So I am taking a page from my cousins page book. I am starting my own family blog. (It was bound to happen I suppose.) I realize I haven't been to keen on keeping contact with those I told I would. I am a terrible pen pal or for that matter long distant confidant. So the reason for this blog I suppose. It is now November and it seems like time has AGAIN flown by. So with as much recollection as I can let me break down the months for you:
January.
We welcomed the new year in Salt Lake for one of our annual trips home to enjoy the holiday season. We moved into a new apartment complex and our only complaint came from Marquiana who was quick to point out none of her friends lived close by. All together January was a truly uneventful month for the Edmunds family.
February.
It was a year since my grandmother died, not a day goes by that I don't think about her.
March.We added a new member to our family, Lily Tangerine, is a Bloodhound who was born on January 25th but we adopted her on the 15th of March. Marquiana got to visit with her cousin Cadence and go to Seaworld during Cadences visit to So. Cal.
April.
Our family had two babies welcome them both boys and only a day apart. My cousin Devon had Oliver and My brother Gino who was in Iraq welcomed his first son Gavin. (like at my brothers wedding he proclaimed the Rubalcava name will live on.) Jon and Liz celebrated two years of wedded bliss on the 27th. To celebrate they treated each other with things we wanted and have always wanted to do. Liz got to go see britney spears live in Los Angeles at the Staples Center. Jon got a somewhat pricey (according to Liz) motorcycle jacket, it is white with a camouflage pattern on so it isn't as hot on the unforgiving summer days.
May.
In May Liz, Marquiana and Lily made a trip to Salt Lake City, UT because Gino had come home from Iraq and to see the new baby Gavin that Liz's mom had been bragging about. Everyone thought Lily was the cutest hound-dog anyone had seen. Liz personally thought Gavin was as cute as her mom had been bragging about.
June.
Marquiana left her beloved school Garrison due to a verbal agreement we had. She was saddened and excited for what her new school held for her. Marquiana and Liz went to Disneyland on the 19th for Cadences birthday. Cadence and Marquiana spent alot of time together and had a couple of sleepovers. Cadence Marquiana and Liz went to the Freedom Days Parade here in Oceanside where we munched on Mcdonalds breakfast sandwiches and starbucks (mine was the only one caffeinated)
July.
Marquiana left for UT on the 2nd of July I believe she spent time while we were in San Diego going to the Jonas Brothers concert with Cadence and Aunt Bridget as well as going to Raging Waters and other activities one who is 7 might enjoy. I am told she didn't really spend much time with my mom but atleast she was busy. Liz turned the big 27 on the 15th we were in UT for about a week and enjoyed spending time with our family. We had Olivers baptism, our family reunion, and catching up with relatives we seem to lose touch with. While we were in UT Jon got to go camping with his best friend of many years Derek, while Liz opted out of this. Towards the end of the month some friends of our moved back to AL due to financial circumstances cause by the economy. This occurrence hurt marquiana because she was in UT when they left. Marquiana spent a total of 3+ weeks in UT.
August.
In the middle of August Marquiana went and spent a week with her paternal grandmother Debbie. I am told that she got to spend alot of time outside with the various animals, namely a goat name sugar. At the end of August Marquiana started a new school. She attends Nichols Elementary School and her teacher is Ms Fanale. She is a avid reader who can now be found reading anything that displays words...
Liz also decided to go back to College this year but instead she is going to pursue Architecture. She currently is only taking one class, Beginners AutoCAD in which she sometimes ponders if she bit off more than she can chew.
September.Liz worked for about a month in which we paid for our latest trip to disneyland with. We went for Marquianas 8th Birthday. Jon came too which turned out to be his 1rst time there and Liz being the true sport she is made him where a badge proudly proclaiming it was his first visit. Jon had to leave early due to his hectic work schedule keeping him from us for the next week but he had fun walking around with us and seeing what truly draws us to Disneyland.
October.
Liz's mom and step dad Don came to visit for the first part of October and man did the spoiling of the grandchild begin. She got some treats that grandma insisted Marquiana have. Don went out fishing only to give the fish he caught to some poor soul who didn't catch anything. Jon had to work for some of their visit but Liz, and her parents went to the Valley View Casino to cash in on free stuff for joining the preferred members. For Halloween Marquiana was a Sparkle witch and Lily was a hound fairy. (yes we made a 70+ dog dress up for Halloween)
November.
On the 8th of November Jon turned 29. He was treated to dinner of his liking (pizza) and a birthday cake.
